What's On Latest Blogs The Easter Candle Although we were unable to hold our Easter Day service Nigel Hardwick has updated the Easter (Paschal) Candle and reinstalled it in the Wesley Centre. The symbols on the candle are the cross, in which incense pins, representing the five bleeding wound of Christ, are inserted. The Alpha and Omega symbolise that God is the beginning and end of all things and the year 2020 that God is present at all times. The lamb and banner represent Christ and his sacrifice. The banner, with the cross, is his symbol of victory over sin and death. The halo around the lamb’s head refers to the divine character of the scene.
