Ways You Can Help

There are many ways you could support The Wesley Centre Community Hub project - simply click on any of the links in capital letters for more information.

  • BECOME A FRIEND - As well as making a tangible contribution to the future of this wonderful building, by becoming a Friend of the Wesley Centre, you'll also receive a number of exciting benefits.
  • BUY A BRICK - Please buy a brick at £25 to help support the construction of the East Wing, and have your name entered on a permanent ‘Roll of Thanks’ to be displayed in the East Wing foyer.
  • DONATE MONTHLY - Please help The Wesley Centre to become reality with a monthly payment made (on the 10th of each month) by standing order in units of £10.
  • BUY A CHAIR - The Wesley Centre has been given approval to remove the remaining ground floor fixed pews and pew platforms from the main space of the Church, bar the retention of two gently curved examples that will be refitted under the windows at each side of the space.
  • CONCERT GRAND PIANO APPEAL - The Wesley Centre will seek to acquire a good completely re-conditioned Steinway or Yamaha Concert Grand, providing a further opportunity to attract artists of the highest calibre – and for many more people in Ryedale and the surrounding parts of North and East Yorkshire to appreciate good music.
  • NAME A MEETING ROOM - Make a lasting contribution to the Wesley Centre by permanently having a meeting room named after yourself or a loved one, plus the double height quiet room (containing the re-positioned stained glass window from the Victorian entrance lobby), the new Church Vestry, or a meeting room in either the new East Wing, or the redeveloped North Wing to be used by all the community.
  • LEAVE A LEGACY - Leaving a sum in your Will will mean that we can preserve the heritage of our historic building for generations to come – and for The Wesley Centre to continue to be a place of lasting community in our town.
  • HELP SPONSOR THE ORGAN RESTORATION - There are four ways in which you can help to support the conservation and restoration of this magnificent pipe organ:
    • Sponsor a pipe: for £100, make a gift by sponsoring one or more of the 2,500 individual organ pipes and have your name beautifully inscribed for posterity on a dedicated tablet adjacent to the organ
    • Sponsor a whole ‘rank’ of pipes: for £1,000, make a gift by sponsoring one of the 31 complete sets of pipes within the instrument, for example, the Harmonic Tromba, the Hohl Flute, or the romantic Orchestral Oboe (see here for the full list) and have your name beautifully inscribed for posterity on a dedicated tablet located close to the organ
    • Sponsor the conservation and restoration of the 45 decorated front pipes: this highly skilled conservation and restoration work will be undertaken by one of the finest guilders, specialist pipe decorators and craftsmen in the country; the richly decorated front pipes will soar almost to the ceiling of the Wesley Centre and will forever remain one of the most visible aspects of the organ, immediately upon entering the Wesley Centre. This painstaking and precious conservation work will cost £20,000 to complete. If you’d be interested in donating 50% or more of this cost, your own name, personal dedication or memorial to a loved one can be forever inscribed on the front of the organ on a beautiful brass plaque.
    • Sponsor more than 50% of the total cost: by making a major gift for the organ restoration and rebuilding, the whole organ will be named and referred to for evermore after you, or as a memorial to a loved one, i.e., The [Name] Forster & Andrews Pipe Organ. An especially inscribed plaque will be permanently affixed to the organ console for posterity.
